Find downloaded file

With luck, when you download a file, the file name appears on your screen and you can just click on it to run it.  Sometimes things are not so convenient.

In that case do the following:

Find your Downloads directory.  With luck it is in the folder where most of your documents are.  Click the "Start" batten then "Documents" in the upper left.
If it is not there, then click the "Start" button then type "Downloads" in the "Search programs and files" window at the bottom of the popup window.
Next double click the word "Downloads" that appears near the top of the pop up window.
You are now in the "Downloads" directory.  If the name of the desired file is not obvious, then check the date and time of the download.  That should make the choice obvious.  If you have a lot of  files in the directory, it helps to order then by "Date Modified".  To do this click on "Date Modified" along the top.  It will either order it with most recent at the top or the bottom of the list.  Just click again on "Date Modified" to reverse the order.
