Windows 10 Quick assist tool for accessing another computer over the internet when there is someone at the other end to help set it up.  Apparently it has no file transfer capability.

1.      Both people type Quick Assist into the search box in the lower left corner of your windows desktop, then click on the link that opens up.

2.       The person wanting help should sit tight till the one giving assistance can give you the code to enter in the box

3.       The one giving assistance should click the bar at the bottom that says “Assist another person”

4.       He will then have to sign into his Microsoft account. At which point he will then be given a code to give to the one getting assistance.  This code times out in 10 minutes.

5.     The receiver will enter it into the box on that wants the code then he should click the box below that says “Share Screen”

6.     The helper person will then select how he wants to help, either full control or view screen.

7.       It may take a minute or 2 to make connection but it will tell you it is trying.

8.       Once it is connected, the one receiving assistance must grant permission for the other person to view or take control of his computer.

9.       The one giving assistance will then check the upper box for taking complete control

10.   Either person can end the session with the X on the top center of the screen.
