Measure your driftwood and establish the spacing you want for your shoes.
Drill at an angle so that your shoes won't fall off the pegs.
I used Gorilla Glue, which uses water to set up, so everything got moistened.
Tap the pegs in, and as soon as the glue dries, you are done.
